CT FoodGirly started in October of 2017. Alex Acquarulo graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management and a master of business administration (MBA). Since a young age, Alex has always been involved in the restaurant business and held her first job as a Busser and Runner at a local pizza restaurant.
Alex created CT FoodGirly, LLC as a way to shed light on the small businesses and restaurants in Connecticut. As the Instagram handle gained momentum, Alex looked to her older sister Blake to help manage the account. The sisters worked side by side until Blake began medical school in 2020.
CT Food Girly, LLC officially became a licensed business and with a new website, behind the scene blogs, interviews, and a Facebook page, CT FoodGirly took off and dove head first into the Connecticut food industry.
CT FoodGirly became a place for Connecticut food lovers to listen, learn, meet, and try new places in the state.
To this day, Alex strives to follow the mission of helping local Connecticut restaurants and businesses grow.
