2020 Summer Picnic Additions

Where do I even begin with Home in Branford? Jared was one of the first restaurant owners and chefs to invite me into their establishment. Ever since I started my page three years ago, Jared has been right there with me. He has brought me to opening-night events and behind the scenes at new restaurants, and he has also introduced me to some of the best people in the food industry.
During the summer months of COVID, Jared reached out to help promote his new picnic-style additions. He had added Cobb Salads, BLT Wraps, Fried Oreos, Reubens, Pasta Salad, Club Sandwiches and so much more. Pictured below, left to right, is The Deli Combo, piled high with hickory smoked turkey, NY style pastrami with a maple mustard spread, chipotle cabbage slaw, and smoked gouda cheese on rye. The Smoked Turkey Reuben, packed with hickory smoked turkey, sauerkraut, homemade pickles, Swiss cheese, spicy Russian dressing and rye toast. Lastly, The Pastrami Club, served on homemade focaccia bread stuffed with NY style pastrami, pico de gallo, romaine, bacon and Home's basil and sage mayo. These are the best trio of sandwiches. Each one was filled with a protein and incredibly fresh toppings!
During this time, Home was focusing on only takeout and delivery, so I was extremely happy to help spread the word about Jared's newest creations. Jared was working with the town of Branford to add picnic tables on the town green, so that families and friends could enjoy meals together from neighboring restaurants. This way, it was easy to support your local shops and restaurants in Branford, but also safely enjoy eating outside with your friends (photos below).
Whenever I go to Home to take pictures and showcase Jared's new seasonal menus and additions, he always serves me one of every item. The food never stops coming out of those swinging kitchen doors and I can't help but laugh. It's now a running joke with my family and friends about who I'll pick to come enjoy Home's new menu items with me. Everyone wants to try the new additions before they hit the menu on opening day! These new additions were perfect for on-the-go, packaged comfortably in their own separate containers, and truly made me feel like I was having a on old-fashioned picnic in the park. If you're ever in the surrounding area, Home is currently offering pick-up, delivery and dine-in for its customers.
